While I was at Rutgers, the pro-Israel community started noticing a distrubing trend – when we would submit our pieces to the Opinions Editor, the content that got published differed from what we sent in. Whether it was phrases being removed or added, or entire sections being deleted, material was being published under our names which didn’t match our opinions at all. Furthermore, a few pieces were published that could only be described as anti-Semitic, despite having no real value for a school newspaper. I took on the project of collecting all of the material sent in to the Targum, comparing it to what was actually published, and then publishing the comparison. The overall page should act as a report, showing objectively the anti-Israel bias of the Daily Targum, the main student-run newspaper at Rutgers.
